Alex Braybrooke

Is this the first time you have had support from the Dave Rayner Fund?
-No, the is my second year being supported by the fund.

Whats your cycling history?
-I grew up riding bikes with my family from a young age. As I got older I started to race as a youth and then as a junior. I experienced racing abroad as a Junior which inspired me to want to race on the continent as an U23. As a first year U23 in 2016 I lived and raced in Belgium for Lotto Soudal U23.

What team are you joining in 2017?
-This year I will be riding for French DN1 team AVC Aix-en-Provence. Based in the department Bouches-du-Rhône the team has 14 riders with a mix of U23’s and Older riders.

What are the details of the team Website/FaceBook/ Twitter and Instagram that we can link to?
Facebook-AVC AIX

Whats your programme looking like?
I started racing Mid-Feb with some elite national races down in the south. Heading into the Spring the Coupe de France gets under way and also some stage racing. The teams espoirs also have there own programme with some 1.2U’s in Italy and 2.2U’s like Ronde L’Isard.

Where are you living?
I’ll be based down in Aix-en-Provence for 2017. I live in a small annex attached to a family house. Its nice to have my own space and the Service course is only a walk away.

What bike will you be riding and who supplies the team kit?
The team bike is a Canyon Ultimate CF equipped with Campagnola chorud, Corima wheels and Ritchey finishing kit. The team kit is supplied by a local sports kit manufacturer madwiscyclisme.

Do you have any other interests outside of cycling?
Not all to much, I enjoyed spending last off season with family and friends who I didn’t see all to often last year. But also trying to find a good cup of coffee on a rest day keeps me entertained
