Is this the first time that you have received support from The Dave Rayner Fund?
This is the second year I’ve received funding and I’m extremely grateful.
 
 
What is your cycling history?
I’ve been racing bikes now for 7 years, this is my 3rd year racing in the USA
 
 
What team are you joining in 2017?
Team Mikes Bikes presented by Equator Coffees
 
 
Tell us a bit about your team?
Our team is one of the biggest and most successful team in the USA we have won elite nationals 4 years in a row in the time trail and road race, we have two team captains that were both professionals for many years and a team mechanic which we are very grateful for.

What is your race programme looking like?

We will be competing in many pro national races around the country including races like the prestigious Tulsa Tough and Redlands Bicycle Classic, also some UCI races too.

 

Where are you going to live?

I’m living in El Dorado Hills for the season with professional cycling legend Evan Huffman who won the KOM jersey in the tour of California last season, he’s a great guy and has really opened his home up to me which is great.

 

What bike will you be riding and who supplies the team kit?
We will be riding a 2017 Specialized Tarmac with Di2 components, first time on electric shifting and it works like a dream, our team kit is made by Californian company Capo and it fits like a glove.
 
 
Do you have any other interests outside of cycling?
 I love taking photographs of the scenery around California and other parts of the USA which can be found on my instagram: leongledhill and I’m an avid tweeter @leon_gledhill
