    Chill with mates
  • Race history:

I’ve been racing since 2003 at first mainly on the track and progressed to road racing in 2006 as an U14 year old.  Dad was always in to cycling and following an accident (which saw him off the bike for several months) he went to watch Monday night track league at the Manchester Velodrome, he enjoyed watching it and brought me and my twin brother Simon to watch and we were hooked. We joined Eastlands Velo and gradually started road racing (well it was closed circuits until we turned Junior!)  I now enjoy both the track and road and am happy to do either.

  • Best race(s) of the season:

Is the the first time you have had support from the DRF?

This will be my second full season of funding which I’m really grateful for.

What team are you joining in 2013?

My new team is CC Etupes, they are based in France quite close to the swiss border and the Alps.  Jon Tiernan-Locke spent a season here a few years ago.  The team finished in the top three of the French National Division 1 last season, and their top rider Warren Bargill last season has moved to the Argos Shimano team this season.    Web site is

What is your race programme looking like?

Busy, we start our first 2 day race on the 2nd February- Boucles Catalanes et Circuit Méditerranéen.  http://www.velosoleil.com/annonces-soleil2.php?id=107

Other races include Paris- Troyes which I rode last year  with my previous team UVCA Troyes, Tour de Bretangne, Tour du Jura, Tour Franche-Comete, Tour D’Alsace, Mi-Aout Bretonne- which I also rode last year this time with the GB  U23 Squad .  You can see the full calendar on the club website.

Are you going on a training camp with the team?

Yes- straight after the racing finishes on the 3rd February we travel to Loret de Mar in Spain for the team presentation and a 2 week training camp.

When are you heading out to Europe?

I moved out to France on the 21st January to join the team – my suitcase joined me several days later!

    Any other relevant info...

I spent the last two seasons with UVCA Troyes based in the Champagne region  of France, got some pretty decent results and with a few wins , got noticed by CC Etupes and was asked to join them , so I hope I can do well again.

My results while in France can be seen here. http://www.directvelo.com/coureur/5247-yates-adam.html
