Is this the first time you have had support from the Dave Rayner Fund?
What is your cycling history ?
I come from a cycling family starting with my grandparents racing. My dad was a professional cyclist so I’ve been brought up with cycling all my life. I started racing as a 2nd year U16 in RST racing team, then got picked up by Stefan Wyman to race in his team, (Matrix Fitness) as a junior. Represented GB at the 2012 Junior World RR Championships. My best result to date would probably be 18th in stage 1 of the Friends Life Women’s Tour.
What team are you joining in 2015? Tell us a bit about your team.
For 2015 I’ll be racing for Matrix Pro Cycling. This will be my 4th year with Matrix however this year it has gained UCI pro status which is a big step up for the team. The team has got me to where I am today as I have developed massively from when I first joined as a junior. I have gained lots of experience from racing in the UK and Europe and can’t wait to start racing this year.
Do they have they a website we can link to?
What is your race programme looking like?
I start my season off racing in Belgium for Omloop Het Neiuwsblad and Omloop Hageland, then I head over to France for a few French Cups and return back to Belgium. As our team has a place in the Friends Life Women’s Tour of Britain that is my main goal of the season because I enjoyed it so much last year, racing with the best riders in the world. We’ve got a much stronger team this year so hopefully I’ll have the form to make the selection
Are you going on a training camp with the team?
I am currently on camp in Limoux, South France, for a few weeks then return home for our team launch on the 26th February.
When are you heading out to Europe/USA?
The team travels straight to Belgium after the team launch to race Omloop Het Neiuwsblad on the 28th February.
