Is this the first time that you’ve had support from The Dave Rayner Fund ?
Yes, this is the first time I’ve received support from the fund.
What is your cycling history ?

I took up cycling seriously in the last few years, after being a hockey player for a number of years before that. I’ve always been very keen on sport, and when I sustained a knee injury in hockey I started doing a bit of cycling as physiotherapy and also just for fun. I then went down to the track at Halesowen, and after encouragement from the coaches there I joined the club and switched my focus entirely to cycling.

What team are you joining in 2015? Tell us a bit about your team.

In 2015 I’ll be riding for Matrix Pro Cycling. The team has played a big part in the development of women’s cycling in the UK, and as a new UCI team 2015 should be a really exciting year!

Do they have they a website we can link to?

The teams website is http://matrixprocycling.cc

What is your race programme looking like?

The race programme is starting nice and early for the team, and I’ll be moving over to Belgium in late February after the team launch. I’ll start by racing a number of the classics, beginning with Omloop Het Neiuwsblad on the 28th February. Once the classics season is over, the racing becomes a lot more diverse, and I’m really excited for the stage races to kick off in the second part of the season!

Are you going on a training camp with the team?

With racing starting so early, there won’t be another training camp with the team before the season begins. However, we spent the first couple of weeks in November together in Limoux, which was a great way to get to know each other and gel as a team from the start of winter training!

When are you heading out to Europe/USA?

I’ll be heading over the Europe in late February, with the team being based in Oudenaarde.
