Eiser Hirumet
Dave Rayner Funded Since: 2017

Is the first time you have had support from the Dave Rayner Fund?

No. I was also supported in 2017 and 2018.

What is your cycling history?

I got into racing at Herne Hill Velodrome when I was 12 and have been at it ever since.

What team are you joining?

Eiser Hirumet

Tell us a bit about your team.

Eiser Hirumet are a Basque team based in Durango, near Bilbao. The team has a core of Basque riders who, this season, will be joined by a large contingent of foreign riders. Eiser’s 20 rider roster will include U23 and Elite category riders from France and Panama as well as 2 Colombians and 4 Brits.

What is your race programme looking like?

Eiser are one of the few teams in Spain that offer a double calendar throughout the season. From February to May, each weekend, one half of the squad will compete in the Copa España while the other half will tackle the Basque races. From May to the end of September the Basque races continue and but the Copa España is replaced by stage races.

Where are you going to live?

I’ll be living in the team accommodation with the other foreign riders. The team has a flat and house in Durango, Northern Spain.

What bike will you be riding and who supplies the team kit?

Our kit is supplied by Bio Racer, we’ll be riding the Ridley Fenix SL and our helmets are provided by Abus.

Do you have any other interests outside of cycling?

Football. I support Arsenal.
